A prayer to be filled with the Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18 (ESV)
18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,
Galatians 5:16 (ESV)
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Galatians 5:25 (ESV)
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
Lord, I ask that Your Spirit fill me today. I want to be filled with the Spirit so that I may experience Your love, presence, and guidance in everything I do.
I want to walk by the Spirit so that I will not gratify the desires of the flesh that displease you and hurt You. I do not want to give in to the desires of the flesh like sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, and orgies.
Rather, I want to experience the fruit of the Spirit in my life. The fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
I want to live by the Spirit, and keep in step with the Spirit!
Grant my desire to be filled with Your Spirit

Oh, LORD, give us HEARTS to be like You. Give us the desire within our spirits to SPEAK loudly with the way we live our lives. Help us to WALK like You walk. Help us to be the example of Christ to those around us.

Dear God.Bad things are happening and I am frightened.Things have gone out of control and I am worried.It seems that the smallest things stress me out.Teach me to trust you in these hard times.Help me to find peace in the storms of my life.Lead me through the heartache that I am feeling.

God listens to those who worship Him
... the New Testament expands on the conditions, giving us a fuller view of what is involved in effective prayer:
1. John 9:31—“We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.”
2. John 14:13—“Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
3. John 15:7—“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.”
4. 1 John 3:22—“Whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.”
5. 1 John 5:14—“This is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”
As these passages reveal, there is more to receiving what we desire from God than the mere asking. Trust in God is not enough. There must be proper reverence for God, obedience to His will, and an ongoing communion with Christ. The request must be made in accordance with the revealed will of God, and in accordance with His nature and character.

God, hear my prayers. I pray and ask in Jesus' name, not because I believe it is a magical incantation, but in confidence because I believe and know that my prayer request is directed to You, my Saviour and Lord who loves me, and who is the Great High Priest, and intercessor.
I pray as your child who worships and adores You. I pray as Your child who seeks to faithfully walk with You in obedience to Your revealed will. I pray that God may be glorified in the answering of my prayers.

Father,
You know every challenge we face, every opposition in front of us. You know every desire of our heart, and you know the sins with which we struggle. Forgive us for all the times we've gone our own ways, and for the ways we've chosen to figure this out on our own, rather than looking to you.
We ask for your guidance. Help us to listen to your voice, because when we don't we hurt each other, and we hurt ourselves. We need your deep, abiding presence. We need your powerful healing. So us the way forward with those we have hurt and have been hurt by. Move us together in unity.
We need your direction, because we are wayward. We need your strength, because we are weak. We often react with our emotions or our mind, rather than seek your will and turn to your word for help.
Holy Spirit, come, settle here and teach us in the moment, so that we may honor you and you alone.
Amen

Dear Lord,
The scriptures tell us that joy comes the morning after we grieve.
Teach us how to grieve well and how to mourn our losses.
Give us wisdom to know how to let go of our past pains.
Bless us that we might fully live in the now.
Cause us not to be overwhelmed by trauma and crisis.
We pray for hearts and minds that embrace our small joys.
Help us to experience the joy that is in your presence.
And remember that you are with us today and every day.

Hope and prayer
Dear God,
I am full of wishes,
full of desires,
full of expectations.
Some of them may be realized, many may not,
but in the midst of all my satisfactions and disappointments,
