Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

When a blogger friend loses a dear loved one, we all share the hurt and send prayers, love and comfort to those grieving.

This past week Patty Lincoln lost her mother to a tragic car accident.

Dear Lord, please put your loving arms around this family with the loss of a mother, grandmother.   Bring comfort to those who loved her and will miss her.  Thanks you that's she with You in heaven, and we know we will join her some day.

Father, especially remember the younger grandchildren and great grandchildren that she love and influenced in so many ways.  Fill the gap that she will leave.  Send Your healing power.  Thanks you, we love You.  Amen.

Fred Scott Shepard wrote:

“My grace is sufficient, O lost one!
Thy soul to redeem from its woe,
To give you a perfect salvation,
To keep you wherever you go.

My grace is sufficient, O weak one!
The bondage of sin to remove;
My strength is made perfect in weakness,
Then seek for this strength from above.

My grace is sufficient, O tried one!
To meet every testing and need;
Whatever may be the requirement,
My grace is sufficient indeed.

My grace is sufficient, O dear one!
Yes, even for death's trying hour;
This foe I have met and vanquished;
No need, then, to fear its dread power.”

Thank you Father for the infinite reach of your grace that touches every finite need of our lives. That it does matter to You about us.

Prayer for Unity

We pray not only for ourselves but also for all who will believe in Jesus through our message.

We pray that we will all be one, just as the Father and the Son are one.

May we be in them together so that the world will believe that Jesus was sent from God.

May we glory in the Godhead and be one in headship, salvation and anointing.

We rejoice that Jesus is in us and we are in him.

May we experience such perfect unity that the world will know that the Father sent the Son.

May we understand together the depth and riches of the love of God.

Then the Father's love for the Son will be in us, and we will be in God.

Lord, Your Word says that each of us is "fearfully and wonderfully made" and that You are concerned about the one lost sheep in a flock of a hundred. Thank You for purchasing my redemption by Your death and resurrection. I love You, Lord. ---- A.W. Tozer

Dear Lord, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD MY ROCK and my Redeemer.  You have lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; You have set MY FEET ON A ROCK and given me a firm place to stand.  You put a new song in my mouth.  Thank you for being my ROCK, and thank you for placing my feet on a firm foundation.  You are my ROCK AND MY SALVATION.  I love You.  Amen.

Psalm 32:8 (NLT)
   The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

This is the one of Scripture’s most encouraging promises. I regularly pray:

“Thank you Father, that you have promised to instruct me and teach me in the way I should go and counsel me with your eye upon me. Please guide me in this decision I am facing. Please show me what to do. Please give me wisdom.  Thank, you, Father that you have promised you will.”

Yielding Fruit | Praying Psalm 1

Today's prayer comes from a reading of Psalm 1.

Father help me to:
  • be discerning and not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners;
  • not scoff at the things closest to your heart;
  • delight is in the scriptures and meditate on them day and night.
Cause me to:
  • be like a tree planted by streams of water yielding fruit in its season;
  • be blessed and prosper in all that I do.
Keep me from:
  • wicked double-minded behavior that is like chaff that the wind drives away;
  • anything that keeps me from standing when I am judged.

Father, help us to grasp how high, how deep, and how wide your love is for us. Fill us with the knowledge of your grace and of Jesus. Let us know you more deeply and rest in your arms. Amen

Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Dear Lord, as we begin this new chapter in our lives, we know that our "dwelling" is in the shelter of the Most High.  But the reality of moving and all it takes is a little scary.  We have prayed and ask for your guidance and direction, and feel we are on your path for this next step.  Continue to lead us and keep us in your perfect will for our future.  We love you.  Amen

Isaiah 53:3 (NLT)
   He was despised and rejected

John 1:10-11 (NLT)
   He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. 11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

Lord Jesus, you understand what it means to be rejected. You experienced it, overcame it and used it for divine purposes.

Luke 9:22 (NLT)
     “The Son of Man must suffer many terrible things,” he said. “He will be rejected ……….. He will be killed, but on the third day he will be raised from the dead.”

Father I am so grateful that rejection doesn’t determine the outcome of anything though it may be a means to accomplish a greater purpose. The rejection of Jesus resulted in the great salvation we have through faith in him. Who could have thought that the cross would become the crucible through which redemption would come?

Ephesians 1:7 (NIV)
   In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins………

Colossians 1:20 (GW)
    …..He did this by making peace through Christ's blood sacrificed on the cross.

Father what a story line: Rejected, Killed, Raised!

what's taken

"What's taken from us is often painful. But God
can take what is left and make it powerful"
(J. Franklin)

Lord, help us to see Your Sovereignty in all things. Help us to acknowledge Your Authority in our lives and willingly and humbly heed to Your will for us. May we surrender our lives to You and strive to see You even in the painful things. Empower us to allow You to make those things powerful for Your kingdom. May we always keep our eyes on You and aspire for a life of Holiness.

Post-Mother's Day Prayer

Father, be with those who have lost children, who want to be mothers but can't, or who are missing their own mothers. Comfort them and hold them in your arms. Be everything they need. Amen.

This Mother's Day, dear Lord, I lift my heart with gratitude for all my children and grandchildren.  You have blessed my life so richly.  Thank you for the love and protection you have circled my family with and how you minister in each of their lives.  I love you Lord, I love that you have let me be surrounded by loving children.  Is there anything better in this winter season of my life.  I think not, and it's all because of YOU.  Amen.

New Day

Psalm 118:24 (NLT)
    This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Thank you Father for a new day. It may begin with question marks (????) but it will end with exclamation points (!!!!) of praise for your presence, protection and provision. Each day you give us is a gift, an opportunity and a challenge. Father help us to value the gift, to take advantage of the opportunities and to have the courage to engage the challenges. Then this new day will be great in which we can rejoice and be glad.

Mother's Day

Dear Lord,
You worked so many miracles this past year. For the first time in three years I will have a Mother's Day that includes all of my children. They won't all be here, but they'll all be accounted for. We'll be missing my mom, but we know she will be celebrating Mother's Day with her own mom for the first time in 75 years. What a party that will be! So thank you, Father, for moms and Mother's Days.

do you want a breakthrough?

Heavenly Father, break me, expose my sin to me, empower me to repent of my sin, help me to seek Your face. Fill me with tears and a heart for personal revival, church revival, nationwide revival, and global revival. God, endow me with the authority and power of Jesus Christ in everything I do. Help me to know Your holiness, whatever the cost. I am willing to pay the price for being in Your presence. God, pour out Your Spirit in such a way that a mighty revival and an awakening to Your power will break out among those who hear the message. Revive my heart, fill my mouth with so much Jesus that I will tell everyone I meet of my Savior and His love for them and how you can bring hope and healing to their shattered lives. Show me Your holiness.

Teach My Heart

O Lord my God.

Teach my heart this day where and how to find you.

You have made me and re-made me, and you have bestowed on me all the good things I possess, and still I do not know you.

I have not yet done that for which I was made.

Teach me to seek you, for I cannot seek you unless you teach me, or find you unless you show yourself to me.

Let me seek you in my desire; let me desire you in my seeking.

Let me find you by loving you; let me love you when I find you.

God's Goodness

Father, we thank you for your goodness to us. Help us to remember that goodness is an attribute of who you are, that you are good to us all the time. When we are going through hard times, you are no less good to us than when things are going smoothly. Help us to trust your heart toward us and rest in your grace and love. Amen

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life ~
John 3:16"

*Give me a heart like Your heart,
Beating for the lost.
Give me a love like Your love,
No matter what the cost.
Give me a road to travel,
A race that I can run.
Give me a heart like Your heart,
To stand until You come.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (ESV)
     3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4  who comforts us in all our affliction……..

Father as I think of those in our country that have been going through such extraordinary affliction by the storms of wind, flood and fire, I pray for your sustaining comfort for them. They have suffered loss of every kind and pain unimaginable.  Encourage them with the presence of your love and hope. You understand the greatness of their agony and their concern for what the future holds. Help them to trust your wisdom, to rely on your mercy and to be strengthened by your power.

You are the God of all comfort and may your comfort be their solace today.

Little People

Dear Father God,
Thank you for this moment of quiet in an otherwise noisy busy day full of little people. Thank you the little ones themselves and for all they mean to me. Sometimes they are grumpy and cantankerous, and other times they are sweet and lovable. They're just like us in so very many ways. There must be days when You look down, shake Your head, and wonder if we'll ever learn... Help me to learn, dear Lord. And help me to love these little people along the way.

Breath in me, O Holy Spirit

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.

Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.

Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy.

Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.

Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.
