Daily Prayer: May 2024

Hope and prayer

Dear God,

I am full of wishes,

full of desires,

full of expectations.

Some of them may be realized, many may not,

but in the midst of all my satisfactions and disappointments,

I hope in you.

I know that you will never leave me alone

and will fulfill your divine promises.

Even when it seems that things are not going my way,

I know that they are going your way

and that, in the end, your way is the

best way for me.

O Lord, strengthen my hope,

especially when my many wishes are not fulfilled.

Let me never forget that your name is Love.

Amen.

a prayer to live a grace filled life

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the grace that you have given us as a free gift.

Help us to live into, and out of, your grace each day.

Empower us to lean into your grace when things don't go as planned.

Bless us that we might be blessings of grace and mercy.

We bless and rejoice in your name and in your grace.

Amen.

Only You, Jesus, can meet my desperate need for righteousness. Forgive me, Lord, when I channel my efforts through my own ineffective will power and fail to draw on Your power through time with You. Forgive me when I fail to yield to the Holy Spirit's work and wander from You, Jesus - my first love.

Fill me with all that is good, Lord, and remove what is not bearing fruit. I want to be filled with the goodness of your Holy Spirit so that I may glorify you.

Thank You, Father, for making me more and more like Jesus as I trust and obey You. Thank you for covering me with Your grace as I grow. In my spiritual bankruptcy, remove the guilt of my sin and make me pure in heart. Help me desire Your righteousness as much as I desire my own comfort and peace. Help me mourn over the sin and pain in the world and to hunger after a deeper holiness. Fill me with Your fullest joy in the life You have given me.

a prayer of thanks for our mothers

Dearest Lord,

We thank you for our mothers.

Thank you for placing them in our lives.

Praise you for the blessing they are to our families.

Thank you for the godly wisdom that they have instilled in us.

We are grateful beyond words for them.

Thank you for their influence our my lives.

We ask you to bless them today and always.

To you be all power and glory for the things done through them.

Our Spirits Rejoice in God

Our soul glorifies the Lord and our spirits rejoice in God our Savior.

He has been mindful of the humble state of his servants.

All generations will call us blessed.

For the Mighty One has done great things for us — holy is his name.

His mercy extends to those who revere him, from generation to generation.

He has performed mighty deeds with his arm.

He has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.

He has helped his servants, remembering to be merciful to them.

To Abraham and his descendants forever, he has shown mercy.

Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus!

Lord, direct my heart to your love

Lord, when circumstances threaten to overwhelm me, direct my heart to your love.

Help me focus on your never-ending love for me.

Help me remember your promise to never leave me nor forsake me.

Help me to remember how faithful you have been in the past

Help me grow in my trust in your power to deliver me from evil.
Help me grow in strength and confidence as I remember the steadfastness of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the face of persecution. He never faltered because of His great love for me.
Lord, direct my heart to your love!

His GLORIOUS Presence

LORD, draw us to Your HOUSE that we may WORSHIP and PRAISE You with all that is within us!

May we desire with all of our hearts to gather together in UNITY with our fellow BELIEVERS.

Strengthen us. Unite us. Empower us. Fill us with JOY that comes from being where You are.

Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, but let us run eagerly to the House of God!

There is no better place to be than with Your people in Your House…

Gracious Lord,

We begin by giving thanks to you for being by our side in difficult times.

We also give you thanks for family and friends who have encouraged us.

We pray for inner strength to come to us, as we work and as we wait.

We ask to be given grace to be patient as we persevere.

We want your blessing of love and strength.

We plead for wisdom to be given to us and those who are hurting.

We desire that you will be glorified in our lives as we patiently live.

We intercede believing in the strong name of Jesus.

Bless us that we might use our past to make our future better.

Philippians 3:8–11 (ESV)

8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

Lord, in a world filled with a myriad of voices promising me happiness, help me to focus on You.

Help me to realize that true happiness, joy, peace, satisfaction, and all the other good things I seek in life can only come from You.

Help me to see that the best the world has to offer is nothing compared to knowing You, walking with You, and seeking after You.

Lord, following You can at times be difficult. But help me realize that these difficulties are temporary. Help me to have faith in You that the experience of true happiness and joy that I seek is just around the corner.
