Dear Lord,

I often feel overwhelmed and pulled in too many directions.

Help me evaluate my schedule and where I spend my time.

Give me wisdom to prioritize the important over the urgent.

Bless me that I might discern what is truly essential.

Give me the courage to let go of what is not important.

As I face my daily tasks, align my priorities with your Spirit.

Help me to be a good steward of my time and my energy.

Remind me to seek your kingdom first, trusting that all will work out.

Give me the grace to focus on the tasks at hand, one step at a time.

In Jesus' name, I pray.

Compassionate Lord,

I lift up my friend who is going through a hard time.

Please grant them strength and courage to overcome their struggles.

Give them patience and resolve to hang in there with a good attitude.

Wrap them in Your peace, and help them feel your presence and comfort.

Calm any fear or anxiety they may be feeling.

Help them to know that they are not alone.

Guide them with Your wisdom and let them find hope in You.

Dear Father God,

Open our hearts to your plan for us so that we may live good lives.

A prayer for as you get older

I’m tired.

As I grow older

fatigue comes sooner.

This worn and weary frame

no longer functions

as it once did.

That I may continue to serve You

and live the rest of my days

to their full

is my prayer.

I know, Lord, that I must learn

to recognize limitations,

to choose among opportunities,

to eliminate excess baggage.

But that knowledge comes hard.

I am not wise;

I need to understand

much more than I now know

of the practical application

of Your Word

to these matters.

Forgive me Lord

for not learning sooner,

for wasted time

and dissipated energy

I now wish I had.

I see the importance

of these commodities

now that I am beginning

to run short of them.

I want to serve You

to the end,

not in a lackluster manner,

nor in weariness of flesh,

but vivaciously,

conserving and wisely using

all my remaining strength

for Your glory,

Amen.

Dear Father,

My life is hard and I am not handling it well.

Lord, I can’t believe this has happened.

We kind of knew the company

was in financial difficulties but never

thought it would come to this.

Lord, please help us. We’re going to need wisdom,

your practical guidance on what to do …

how to make ends meet, how to manage,

to see if we need to move to find another job,

all sorts of things.

May we not be too proud to ask others to help.

Please may we know your peace and

your presence at this difficult time.

to grow old gracefully

Dear Lord,

May Christ keep me ever young "to the greater glory of God."
For old age comes from Him, old age leads to Him,
and old age will touch me only insofar as He wills.
To be "young" means to be hopeful, energetic, smiling---and clear-sighted.

May I accept aging in whatever guise it may come to me in Christ,
that is, within the process of the development of life.
A smile---inward and outward---means facing with mildness
and gentleness whatever befalls me.

Jesus, grant me to serve You, to proclaim You, to glorify You,
and to manifest You, to the very end through all the time
that remains to me of life, and above all through my death.

Lord Jesus, I commit to your care my last years, and my death; do not let them impair or spoil the work I have so dreamed of achieving for You.
