Daily Prayer

a prayer for surrender

Father,

When you asked Moses, "What is that in your hand?" and then asked him to throw down his rod, you are reminding me of something I've missed before. That you often call us to surrender the thing we've relied on for so long to make us comfortable.

You used the everyday objects such as the jars of oil in 2 Kings 4 and the handkerchiefs and aprons in Acts 19 to do miraculous things! You use the resources You've given - and they are often right in front of us - to do Your work.

Yet I need to set it down.

Lord, may I recognize and surrender the resources You have given you and use them to carry out Your will. Let the dry bones inside me come to life, let my heart of stone be replaced with a heart of flesh. May I see the thing I'm holding onto dearly as something to lay down.

May I learn to get out of the boat so that You can teach me to walk on the water.

May our good deeds demonstrate our deep love and affection for You, because we bear the name of Christ. I love You. Amen.

No Plan B

Father, you have no plan B for our salvation. Your plan and purpose is that thought faith in your Son, Jesus, we can accept the salvation that is freely offered in Him. Thank you Father for your Plan A and for the forgiveness of our sins through the suffering, sacrifice, death and resurrection of Jesus. And thank you for reminding us: "I write to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name." 1 John 2:12 (NIV)

In Jesus Name we give You praise. Amen.

to take pleasure in our work

Lord, as we go to our work this day,

help us to take pleasure therein.

Show us clearly what our duty is,

help us to be faithful in doing it.

May all we do be well done, fit for thine eye to see.

Give us enthusiasm to attempt, patience to perform.

When we cannot love our work, may we think of it as thy task, and make what is unlovely beautiful through loving service, for thy name’s sake.

increase your influence in our lives

Father we ask you to increase your influence in our lives. Help us to factor you in to every decision. Help us to know your presence and love each day. And speak to us of ways that we can bless and help the people that you have put in our lives.

A time of rest

LORD, today I lift up all who are weary and burdened. I pray that You will grant them REST. A time where they can pull away from all that is causing them chaos and confusion and they can turn to You for a REFRESHING of their spirit and sweet RENEWAL to their soul.

Relieve them of their burden. Enable them to lay some things down at Your feet. Empower them to turn all that is causing their weariness over to You.

We thank you LORD that you carry our burdens for us and that You provide the REST that we so desperately need.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

THE RICHES OF HIS GRACE

Ephesians 1:4-7 "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Oh Lord, we cannot fully understand your great love for us. That before the creation of the world, we were in your thoughts and plans. Your desire was to make us holy and blameless in your sight, to adopt us, to give us freely all the riches, grace and mercies of heaven. We will never comprehend this marvelous reality until we see you face to face. But while we live our our lives on this earch, help us to seek you face, live in Your Word, and show forth this wonderful mystery in our lives. I love You. Amen.

Our God and Father, you finished the work of creation. Jesus you finished the work of salvation. The Apostle Paul finished his work of evangelization. And Father you encourage and expect us to finish our work as witnesses to the Gospel and our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Father we know that you have given us various gifts, talents, abilities and time to finish the good works you planned for us to do. Help us to be faithful to you and obedient in finishing the mission and ministry you ordained for us. May we be mindful that "..... we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

Thank You Father for the privilege's and honor of serving you in doing good works for others, and especially in sharing the Gospel. In Jesus name. Amen

For Victims of Gun Violence

Father, we ask that you be with those who have lost loved ones during the shootings that seem to be increasing. Heal those who have been wounded. Please bring a spirit of calm over the country so that this violence would cease. Amen

GOD'S MIGHTY HAND

Psalm 37:23 "If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

Heavenly Father, like a child, we need a hand to hold on too. You have promised us you will uphold us with your mighty right hand. There is such security in knowing you will not let us slip or fall. You make our steps firm and and path straight. What a loving a gracious Father we have. Thank you for never letting go. Thank you for the security of a Father that holds us in the palm of His hand. I love You. Amen!

Praying for Others

Father it is an awesome privilege to participate with Jesus and the Holy Spirit in intercessory prayer for others. The power that is revealed through prayer is not ours but Yours and yet we are wonderfully and amazingly linked with You as we pray in Your will through Jesus name.

Father help us to be faithful in the holy honor of, intercessory prayer, to come boldly to the throne of grace, not just for ourselves, but especially others.
