UNCLEAN ~ UNCLEAN

Can you imagine the pain and suffering of bleeding for twelve years.  And more than the pain and suffering, but her whole income spent on doctors to no avail.   But probably the worst, was to be considered "unclean" for twelve years.  Not able to go to the Temple to pray for hear the teachers of the Word.  She was an outcast, poor and alone!.

She heard about a Prophet named Jesus who was healing the lame, the blind and demon possessed.  She longed to meet Him to have him heal her.  But the crowds, they pushed and shoved as they followed him to the house of a ruler who's daughter had died.   She thought if only I could tough the edge of his cloak, I will be healed.  She pushed forward keeping her face covered with her shawl.  Then she was behind him.  Did she dare!!   Reaching out, she did the unthinkable...she touched the hem of his cloak and immediately felt the bleeding stop!!   Jesus turned and saw her.  "Take heart, daughter.  Your faith has healed you."

This is the only recorded time that Jesus called a woman "daughter".  What a blessing and honor to be called the daughter of God.

Oh Lord, I don't have a clue to that kind of suffering.  But I know you are gracious, loving and full of mercy and when someone reaches out in faith and touches you....you come to them.  You receive them.  Thank you for this woman and the message she shares with us.  Help me to have that kind of faith in the midst of suffering and pain.  I love You.  Amen
