It is good to give thanks to you Lord.. to sing praises to your name, O Most High.. we declare your steadfast love in the morning and your faithfulness by night.
Our hearts join in one accord in the music of praise and worship. For you, O Lord, have made us glad by your work.. at the works of your hands we sing for joy.
How great are your works, O Lord! How deep are your thoughts! The proud one does not know or understand your ways Lord.. yet you have revealed yourself to anyone with a seeking heart.
You encourage and lift up the humble Lord.. you anoint the lowly with your favor.. your mercy flows over us like fresh oil.
Because of your grace the faithful flourishes like the palm tree and grows like a cedar in Lebanon.. they are planted in your house and flourish in your courts.. bearing fruit in old age they are ever full of sap and life.
We declare that you are holy.. you are our rock.. you are right and totally righteous.. and we worship you Lord Jesus Christ.

Who Is This Jesus?

I have been told that Jesus is not God. I've been told I should not pray to Him. But I believe that He is God. I believe that God loved me so much that He clothed His Word in human flesh and came down to earth to die in my place and offer me salvation. How can I keep from praising Him? How could I not fall on my knees and worship Him? How can I stop myself from praying that my friends and family will come to know forgiveness and salvation?

beyond my grasp
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped… (Phil 2:5-6)
Jesus is God, and yet while on earth, he did not consider “godness” to be attainable.
My life is certainly full… family, friends, health, purpose, stability, security. The list of things to be thankful for goes on and on. But what if I considered these things to be beyond my grasp?
Surely, other people’s lives are beyond my reach. Bill Gates. Barack Obama. Bruce Springsteen. But my gifts… my blessings… my talents… how could I deny them?
Could I act like a person who did not consider equality with Ed G as something attainable? Honestly, I don’t know. My point of reference almost always centers on my experiences. Judgments are made based on how something relates to my life. People are richer, poorer, happier, sadder, smarter, dumber, taller, shorter… than me. I would like this to change. Will you pray with me?
I need to be humbled, Lord. Show me how to make myself nothing. Fill my heart with the attitude of Christ Jesus. Help me to live as though I considered all that is my life to be simply unattainable. Humble me.

In John MacArthur book Lord Teach Me To Pray he shares this insight on praying without ceasing.
He compares it to breathing. Inhaling and exhaling is so natural for us that if often seems totally involuntary; it's actually harder to hold your breath than it is to breathe. The same should be true of prayer for Christians.
Prayer is like breathing for Christians
When you don't pray, you're holding
you breath spiritually - fighting against the
very existence and presence of God in your life.
Dear Lord, help me to stop holding my breath, and just breath you in and breath you out all day long. May I either be praising you or petitioning you. May my life be a continually act of breathing spiritually. ~~ Amen
Shine through me

Help me to spread your fragrance wherever I go.

A Prayer for Haiti
A prayer from the folks at Beliefnet..
Heavenly Father, It is with a heavy heart that we come to you, not necessarily knowing what we should ask for because many of us are wondering, "Why did this happen? Why has tragedy struck Haiti again and why do so many lives have to be lost again? Why has this beautiful island been struck by a catastrophic earthquake and ruined?" But as many questions as we have regarding the situation, we still humble ourselves before you to ask for your mercy to be upon Haiti and its people. Extend your hand upon the land and restore all that has been lost, destroyed and damaged to be better than it was before. As rescue teams search for casualties, give them foresight. May they be led by your wisdom, and encouraged by your strength and advised by your discernment. There are yet people who are surviving and I pray that the rescue workers would find them in time and revive them. For the lives that will be lost, we pray for immediate comfort to come to the family and friends of the deceased. For those of us who are watching this unfold from the outside, I pray that you would give us hearts of compassion so that we can give out of our surplus to fill the deficit that is widening in Haiti. May we all extend ourselves in any way possible to secure our brothers and sisters in Haiti. And may every prayer regarding this tragedy be heard and responded to in your good time.

In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:2-3On Tuesday evening, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the poorest country in the Americas.
Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, is in ruins. Thousands have died. Perhaps tens of thousands. Perhaps more. The Red Cross estimates that three million are reeling from this devasting quake.
There are times like this when I am not even sure what to pray for. So I will just pray. Will you join me?
Heavenly Father, we give you thanks and praise. Our brothers and sisters are suffering tonight Lord, for reasons only you understand. Your healing hand is needed to satisfy the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of so many Lord. Be with the people, Lord. Be with your children.
Bless the poor in spirit, bless those who mourn, bless the meek. Give them the fruits of the earth, provide comfort, and deliver the kingdom of heaven.
Someone tonight is trapped Lord. Hurting. Afraid. In darkness.
Be the light. Free them. Save them.
We call upon you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ.

HUNGER FOR GOD
