HE LISTENS
Faith Living
“….I live by faith in the Son of God,
who
loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Galatians
2:20 (HCSB)
Elisabeth Elliot : " If you dwell on your own feelings about things rather than dwelling on the faithfulness, the love, and the mercy of God, then you're likely to have a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Our feelings are very fleeting and ephemeral, aren't they? We can't depend on them for five minutes at a time. But dwelling on the love, faithfulness, and mercy of God is always safe."
Father we are too often inclined to live by sight, by emotions, by logic, by hearing and by the varied influences of the human sensatory system. Not that we shouldn’t listen or learn from them, but not for them to direct our lives. You have specifically commanded us: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; 6 think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (HCSB)
Father your purpose and plan for our lives is perfect. Therefore relying on Your Will, Your Word, and the Holy Spirit, through faith, will result in the guidance and assurance we desire and the safety that brings peace to our soul. Thank You, that:“……whoever trusts in the LORD is safe.” Proverbs 29:25 (ESV)
Amen.

A Good Day for the Kingdom
Father, you remind us through your Word that you have called us to think clearly, be self-controlled, live obediently, and honor you with reverent behavior because you have called us to be holy. You expect our redemption to be expressed in true Christian living, and rightly so.
We thank you Father that not only have you called us, you also enable us by your Spirit and through your grace and mercy to be want you want us to be. This too is our desire: to honor you, please you, glorify you and be the light of truth and hope in a world of darkness, despair and disillusionment.
We pray, Father, that this day will be a good for your Kingdom when your glory will fill the earth through the lives of your loving, obedient children.
We ask this in the Name of Your beloved Son and our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

a prayer for educators and students for new school year
Father,
This year's school year will be different. A lot different. It doesn’t look like we thought it would look, nor will tomorrow and the days to come likely be executed in the way we expected and prepared for. Help us to see the good in each day. Help us to find reasons to rejoice and ways to be glad. We are created in Your image, God, to do good and great things to bring glory to Your name. Each one of us, were created with specific purpose. And right now, especially for teachers, this purpose feel very hard.
Help teachers to have confidence in their call and their skill. They were meant to teach, educate, coach, counsel and lead. They are needed, appreciated, and loved. Their work and their efforts are never in vain. When it is hard to see the good, grab their attention, Father. Sustain them through our very real fear of what is and will happen in our world, God. Remind them we are not alone, even when they feel isolated.
For the boards of education, principals and staff of our schools, we pray blessing over their lives and their livelihood. May the leaders of our schools be blessed with wisdom and energized to inspire their staff in this difficult time. May the needs of students be seen, and God we pray Your provision to meet those needs. Bless our school secretaries, to find a place to serve and work in this new and unique situation. We pray for the channels of communication to remain open among the staff of our school systems. Keep them connected, socially, and working together for the greater good of each student.
Thank You, Father, for technology allowing many students to continue their educations online. For virtual classrooms and technological resources. Thank You for every teacher and educator adjusting to the needs of ALL their students. Comfort them as they miss interacting with their students in person. Equip them with energy and inspiration to come alongside their students in this challenging time of crisis. Protect their health, Father, both physically and mentally. Encourage them to use their gifts and talents to find new ways to reach students.
Amen

The Comfort that God Knows
Exodus 2:23-25 (NLT)
23 Years passed, and the king of Egypt died. But the
Israelites continued to groan under their burden of slavery. They cried out for
help, and their cry rose up to God. 24 God heard their
groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob. 25 He looked down on the people of Israel and knew
it was time to act.
Father as I think about life and the various experiences we all encounter on a daily basis, I am so glad that you hear our prayers, remember your promises, see our needs, know our concerns and understand when it is the appropriate time to intervene. Therefore Father, help us to remember the encouragement of Lamentations 3:25-26 (HCSB) “ 25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. 26 It is good to wait quietly for deliverance from the LORD.”
Thank you for such personal and compassionate care. In the Name of your beloved Son our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
