Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

MOURN WITH THOSE THAT MOURN

When a blogger friend loses a dear loved one, we all share the hurt and send prayers, love and comfort to those grieving.

This past week Patty Lincoln lost her mother to a tragic car accident.

Dear Lord, please put your loving arms around this family with the loss of a mother, grandmother.   Bring comfort to those who loved her and will miss her.  Thanks you that's she with You in heaven, and we know we will join her some day.

Father, especially remember the younger grandchildren and great grandchildren that she love and influenced in so many ways.  Fill the gap that she will leave.  Send Your healing power.  Thanks you, we love You.  Amen.

GRACE

Fred Scott Shepard wrote:

“My grace is sufficient, O lost one!
Thy soul to redeem from its woe,
To give you a perfect salvation,
To keep you wherever you go.

My grace is sufficient, O weak one!
The bondage of sin to remove;
My strength is made perfect in weakness,
Then seek for this strength from above.

My grace is sufficient, O tried one!
To meet every testing and need;
Whatever may be the requirement,
My grace is sufficient indeed.

My grace is sufficient, O dear one!
Yes, even for death's trying hour;
This foe I have met and vanquished;
No need, then, to fear its dread power.”

Thank you Father for the infinite reach of your grace that touches every finite need of our lives. That it does matter to You about us.

Prayer for Unity

We pray not only for ourselves but also for all who will believe in Jesus through our message.

We pray that we will all be one, just as the Father and the Son are one.

May we be in them together so that the world will believe that Jesus was sent from God.

May we glory in the Godhead and be one in headship, salvation and anointing.

We rejoice that Jesus is in us and we are in him.

May we experience such perfect unity that the world will know that the Father sent the Son.

May we understand together the depth and riches of the love of God.

Then the Father's love for the Son will be in us, and we will be in God.

Amen

redemption

Lord, Your Word says that each of us is "fearfully and wonderfully made" and that You are concerned about the one lost sheep in a flock of a hundred. Thank You for purchasing my redemption by Your death and resurrection. I love You, Lord. ---- A.W. Tozer

THE ROCK

Dear Lord, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD MY ROCK and my Redeemer.  You have lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; You have set MY FEET ON A ROCK and given me a firm place to stand.  You put a new song in my mouth.  Thank you for being my ROCK, and thank you for placing my feet on a firm foundation.  You are my ROCK AND MY SALVATION.  I love You.  Amen.

DECISIONS

Psalm 32:8 (NLT)
   The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

This is the one of Scripture’s most encouraging promises. I regularly pray:

“Thank you Father, that you have promised to instruct me and teach me in the way I should go and counsel me with your eye upon me. Please guide me in this decision I am facing. Please show me what to do. Please give me wisdom.  Thank, you, Father that you have promised you will.”

Yielding Fruit | Praying Psalm 1

Today's prayer comes from a reading of Psalm 1.

Father help me to:
  • be discerning and not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners;
  • not scoff at the things closest to your heart;
  • delight is in the scriptures and meditate on them day and night.
Cause me to:
  • be like a tree planted by streams of water yielding fruit in its season;
  • be blessed and prosper in all that I do.
Keep me from:
  • wicked double-minded behavior that is like chaff that the wind drives away;
  • anything that keeps me from standing when I am judged.
Amen

Father, help us to grasp how high, how deep, and how wide your love is for us. Fill us with the knowledge of your grace and of Jesus. Let us know you more deeply and rest in your arms. Amen

A NEW CHAPTER

Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Dear Lord, as we begin this new chapter in our lives, we know that our "dwelling" is in the shelter of the Most High.  But the reality of moving and all it takes is a little scary.  We have prayed and ask for your guidance and direction, and feel we are on your path for this next step.  Continue to lead us and keep us in your perfect will for our future.  We love you.  Amen

REJECTED

Isaiah 53:3 (NLT)
   He was despised and rejected

John 1:10-11 (NLT)
   He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. 11 He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

Lord Jesus, you understand what it means to be rejected. You experienced it, overcame it and used it for divine purposes.

Luke 9:22 (NLT)
     “The Son of Man must suffer many terrible things,” he said. “He will be rejected ……….. He will be killed, but on the third day he will be raised from the dead.”

Father I am so grateful that rejection doesn’t determine the outcome of anything though it may be a means to accomplish a greater purpose. The rejection of Jesus resulted in the great salvation we have through faith in him. Who could have thought that the cross would become the crucible through which redemption would come?

Ephesians 1:7 (NIV)
   In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins………

Colossians 1:20 (GW)
    …..He did this by making peace through Christ's blood sacrificed on the cross.

Father what a story line: Rejected, Killed, Raised!

what's taken

"What's taken from us is often painful. But God
can take what is left and make it powerful"
(J. Franklin)

~~~~
Lord, help us to see Your Sovereignty in all things. Help us to acknowledge Your Authority in our lives and willingly and humbly heed to Your will for us. May we surrender our lives to You and strive to see You even in the painful things. Empower us to allow You to make those things powerful for Your kingdom. May we always keep our eyes on You and aspire for a life of Holiness.
Post-Mother's Day Prayer
Father, be with those who have lost children, who want to be mothers but can't, or who are missing their own mothers. Comfort them and hold them in your arms. Be everything they need. Amen.
This Mother's Day, dear Lord, I lift my heart with gratitude for all my children and grandchildren.  You have blessed my life so richly.  Thank you for the love and protection you have circled my family with and how you minister in each of their lives.  I love you Lord, I love that you have let me be surrounded by loving children.  Is there anything better in this winter season of my life.  I think not, and it's all because of YOU.  Amen.
