I SOUGHT the LORD

We must SEEK the LORD with all that is within us.

We cry out.

He hears. And He answers.

And then our God, oh, He rescues us from all our fears…

What a wonderful SAVIOR and LORD we serve.

Cry out today and let Him do mighty things in your life.

A Prayer for Anxiety

O Christ Who Is My Rest

This tension of the body,

and racing of mind,

and clamoring of heart

afford me no peace in this moment.

Make use of my restlessness, O Lord.

Amidst my doubt, anxiety, and uncertainty

make me aware for your presence,

directing heart and thought and petition to you.

Lay your hand upon my brow, O Lord,

and bid me calm.

You have made me yours and in

that knowledge may I know comfort.

Give me the sweet, unspoken communion

of knowing that I am held in the strength

of your love.

Amen

help me to see you in my life

Dear Lord,

Help me to experience grace and to live patiently.

Help me to see your workings in every moment.

Bless my eyes to see things that are almost invisible.

Give me eyes to witness the small miracles.

And help me to encourage others to do the same.

Dear Lord,

I am concerned with what others think of me.

I have trouble simply being me.

Help me to not take pride in religious things like bible reading and disciplines.

Give me the strength to be transparent and authentic.

Bless me that I might be the same regardless of the setting.

Show me how to be truly humble of heart, like you.

FALL LIKE RAIN

Today the rain is falling where I live. As I watched the rain from my balcony this morning the verse in Deuteronomy 32:2 seemed appropriate.

Heavenly Father, who stores the rain and lets it fall at Your will, thank you for the rain today. We pray as the scripture says, "Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. Father God, may we soak up your Words of Truth and count our many blessings, of which one is rain! In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen

Letting go

God of hope, you hold us all our days.

Give us courage to let go of all that would hold us back

and weigh us down on our journey.

Move us on to embrace the future you lay before us,

to step out in faith and trust into the unknown.

Calm our fear,

and strengthen us for all that is hard to leave

and will be missed.

Give us grace to rejoice

with thankful hearts in your love

that is always with us

and never loosens its grip;

through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Oh , LORD, give us the desire to increase our FAITH. Open our eyes to the TRUTH of Your WORD. Empower us to BELIEVE deep in our hearts the truth of who You are.

A prayer to the Creator of the created

He set the earth on its foundations;
it can never be moved.

You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;

Almighty God, Maker of heaven and earth, Creator of all the things I see and all things I don't see; thank You for this carefully crafted world in which I can daily experience Your love and Your grace. I walk in wonder through this world which You, O God, made and called good. You forgot nothing. You left nothing out. I will never, it seems, come to the end of discovering what is before my eyes, and never run out of reasons for lifting up my discoveries in praise to Your great name.

O God, though I am allowed to approach thee

A prayer for the activity of the church

Lord Jesus, you promised that you would be with your people when they meet together. We claim that promise right now.

We know that you are with us, but even so, Lord, we pray, that you will give us a sense of your presence all together and individually, that we may have a fresh experience of the living God.

We worship you for rescuing us from death and condemnation, for giving us Christ, for life, peace, and your eternal love.

May we hear your voice speaking clearly to us today.

Make us more sensitive to you, and to the awfulness of turning away from you.

Lead us into a deeper joy as we look to you.

Bring life to your people; purify your church, cleanse us from our sin as we turn back to you; revive us spiritually. Renew us, not so that we become even busier people, at church still more evenings in the week, but so that we become more involved with people in our community.

Spirit of God, give us a burden for souls, Lord, souls who without you are perishing.

Lord, we pray for the church, your people, that we will truly become the people you intend us to be, that we will really look upward to you, and that we will look outward to others, not simply look to ourselves.

Lord, make us a distinctive people, to bring you our praise, worship, and adoration, and to lead lives of godly consistency and integrity.

May we all pull together, working as one strong and resilient team, to bring you a symphony of worship and praise and to take you to the community and the wider world.

May our energies be clearly focused and our lives inspired and directed by your power at this time.

We pray in Christ’s name.

Lament for the Weary

Great and gracious Father,

It's precisely because we know you to be great and gracious that we cry out to You today without measuring words or muting feelings. Father, we are tired of being tired, worn out by being worn out, depressed by being depressed.

Hold us tightly, for we feel our grasp of You growing weaker and weaker. Will these sorrows ever lift? Will our hearts ever sing again?

You have written the gospel on our hearts, O God. May this truth keep us from despair. If not for this, the accuser and condemner would have long since erased all memory of Your goodness and faithfulness from our souls.

Though our consciences and emotions mock us, we rest in your promise that we belong to You and You belong to us.

Lord,

My hope is in God

Dear God,

I am full of wishes,

full of desires,

full of expectations.

Some of them may be realized, many may not,

but in the midst of all my satisfactions

and disappointments,

I hope in you.

I know that you will never leave me alone

and will fulfill your divine promises.

Even when it seems that things are not going my way,

I know that they are going your way

and that in the end your way is the

best way for me.

O Lord, strengthen my hope,

especially when my many wishes are not fulfilled.

Let me never forget that your name is Love.

Father of all mercies,

It is often so hard to forgive myself because I fail so much.

Teach me how to be easier on myself and learn to forgive past mistakes.

Help me forgive myself and find peace with the person you made me.

Lastly, use me to help others forgive themselves.

Heavenly Father,

In times of darkness and uncertainty, I turn to You for hope.

Father God, every day is a gift. Some days don't feel like it, but the truth is another day is a gift of life. Help me to rejoice in each new day and remember Your mercies are new every moring.
