The Perfect Christmas

"A Savior Has Been Born to you..." Luke 2:11

Father in the birth of Your Son you saw all of the events that would combine in his life and death that would bring salvation for all who believe. "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."  Luke 2:11 (NIV)

Isaiah prophetically proclaimed: "7 He was oppressed and treated harshly.....He was led like a lamb to the slaughter......10 .....his life is made an offering for sin, .....11 .....because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins."  Isaiah 53:7 & 10-11 (NLT)

John the Baptist declared: ".....Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"
John 1:29 (NLT)

The Apostle Peter wrote: "18 .....God paid a ransom to save you ......the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. 19 It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. 20 God chose him as your ransom l..."  1  Peter 1:17-20 (NLT)

The Apostle Paul said: "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."  Romans 5:8 (NLT)

The Apostle John exclaimed: "This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins."  1 John 4:10 (NLT)

Father it was a perfect Christmas because You gave Your Son the perfect gift, the perfect lamb, and the perfect sacrifice through whom our sins can be forgiven and have perfect peace with You. In the song "Lamb of God" Sarah Reeves captures the essence. the wonder and the perfection of  Christmas.

"Your only Son No sin to hide  But You have sent Him, From Your side
To walk upon this guilty sod And to become the Lamb of God
Your gift of Love They crucified They laughed and scorned him as he died
The humble King They named a fraud And sacrificed the Lamb of God
Oh Lamb of God, Sweet lamb of God I love the Holy Lamb of God
Oh wash me in His precious Blood My Jesus Christ the Lamb of God"

What wonder, what love and what grace! Thank You Father for the perfect Christmas Amen.
