Proverbs 23:23 (ESV)
“Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy
wisdom, instruction, and understanding.”
Father
you have given us four pillars for a sane life and a safe society: “truth, wisdom, instruction and understanding.”
Your
truth will stabilize us in turbulent times. Your wisdom will guide us in chaotic
times. Your instruction will direct us in uncertain times. Your understanding
will enlighten us in foreboding times.
Father,
help us to apply these principles or pillars to our lives, and to remember the
admonition of Your Word: “For the LORD
grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He
grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who
walk with integrity. 8 He guards the paths of the just and protects those who
are faithful to him.” Proverbs 2:6-8 (NLT)
Father,
may we all enjoy the benefits of these surpassing values.
