Dear Lord,
Thank you for winter. Thank you for the snow. It is not my favorite time of year, but it is one that makes me especially thankful for the other seasons and causes me to look forward. It also gives me a chance to do those inside the house kind of jobs that otherwise get put off so I can be outside instead. So yes, it's cold, and yes, I am stuck inside, but I am thankful anyway. Besides, it's awfully pretty out there! Yeah, I guess I kind of like winter too.
Amen

  1. Thank you Martha.

On Monday or Tuesday of this week, I came across a tree just like the one you've shown (except without the snow).

It looked dead, empty, but I knew that it was alive and would bloom again shortly. Sometimes I feel dead and empty, and seeing this tree reminded me that Christ was always working inside me... and my time to bloom again was just around the corner.

I join you in giving thanks and praise for winter!

  2. Thank you Martha and Ed. That image of looking dead on the outside but alive on the inside encourages me.
