Billy, Ruth, and God

Billy and Ruth were married for 64 years, and Billy Graham often said his ministry would have been impossible without his wife. They were called as a team.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NLT)
9 Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone?  12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Father, in remembering your great and humble servant, Billy Graham, we also remember his wife Ruth and the balance and wisdom she brought to their life and ministry. Father they were a dynamic dual formed in your grace, to blend their lives together, in such a way that the world will forever remember their influence and impact for the Kingdom of God.

Thank You for their faithfulness to the Gospel, their vision for the world, and the example of their commitment to marriage and the family. Thank You for braiding them by Your Spirit into “a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”

In the Name of Jesus our Savior, whom Billy Graham so enthusiastically and faithfully preached. Amen. PS – Now in heaven, it must have been quite a welcome home!!!
