He is Our Peace

And in despair I bowed my head;

"There is no peace on earth," I said;

"For hate is strong,

And mocks the song

Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:

"God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;

The Wrong shall fail,

The Right prevail,

With peace on earth, good will to men."

Great and Wonderful God,

We awake this morning with a promise in our heart - that there is peace. Peace between you and us, peace that only came once Jesus came. Peace that removed the separation our sin created from you. 

As we consider how our sin and rebellion created a war between us and you, we rejoice in how Jesus brought peace between you and I once and for all! Because Father, you are not dead. You continue to work in the hearts of your people today, to push back the effects of the Fall and bring others close to you. What joy! What work to be done! May we be your hands and feet on this earth, bringing your peace.

We praise you and thank you for giving us your Son, who brought peace, showed us the way, and became our Great Rescuer. The Prince of Peace!

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
