God of the lowly and outcasts,
your Son chose to be with the rejected,
the unclean and the despised.

May your foolishness,
which is wiser than human wisdom,
confront us with truths unseen,
puncture our overinflated pride
and sharpen our our distorted vision,

that the dignity of all may be restored
and your face be seen
in those the world considers to be of little worth;
through Jesus Christ.
