Speak, Your servant is listening ~~~
I Samuel 3:8-9 "The Lord called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say,' Speak, Lord for your servant is listening.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place."
Dear Lord, When you speak to me, I often fail to hear. And when I hear, I often fail to understand. And when I understand, I often fail to obey. The clamorous world around me obscures Your voice. Yet even in silence, my noisy soul can drown out the gentle whisper of Your Spirit. Give me I pray, the wisdom of Eli, who knew when Your voice was calling. And then give me the obedient heart of Samuel, that I might say to You: Speak, for Your servant is listening!" Amen
I find in my own personal life, God's Word is where He often speaks to me. But if I neglect His Word, how can I hear?
