our jesus, who art in heaven...

Growing up, I prayed to God the father. I even gave the father credit for the crucifixion – after all, he gave us his one and only son – the same we look up to Abraham (and not Isaac) in the Genesis account.

As my relationship with Jesus has grown in recent years… I welcomed his accessibility and willingness to be my brother, but still loved, feared and prayed most to God the father.

Coming to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and almighty God has only come more recently. Will you pray with me today?

Jesus Christ, who art in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

Amen

  2. Simple and beautiful. Thank you.

(I have a Jehovah's Witness friend who has often contested my addressing prayers to Jesus rather than the Father and yet His name fits so naturally into the prayer. Again, thank you.)
