Ephesians 5:25-27 (NLT)
25 For husbands, this
means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his
life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing
of God’s word. 27 He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a
spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without
fault.
Father today I just want to thank you for the
Church. The people who have responded to your call to trust in your Son to be
their Savior. Those who believe in him, love him, and serve him. As the Church
we know that we are a work in progress, a faith that is growing and lives that
are becoming more like Christ. Father it is your grace, mercy, wisdom and power
that makes this possible, for which we are eternally grateful.
Father I also want to thank you for the triune
love of God, (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). And that your love has been so
gloriously revealed in the sacrificing, serving and sanctifying love of Christ
who suffered, died and rose again for us. And I pray with the Apostle Paul
that: “Now all glory to God, who is able,
through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than
we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in
Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians
3:20-21 (NLT)
